School for Intellectually Disabled Children

The special school for the mentally challenged was established to create general public awareness of mental disabilities and service children with a variety of handicaps, including autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation and multiple handicaps. The campus includes classrooms, a recreation hall, a spacious kitchen, dining hall, and playground. Our professional staff consists of trained vocational and special education instructors serving our students.

Education and Essential Skill Training:
Educators routinely evaluate students’ skill levels to ensure proper goals are set, and each student has an accurate progress report. This way lessons, physiotherapy, and group training can be tailored to individual students’ needs.

Respite Care:
Children are taken under respite care as per need of the child. Due to limited space and resources, children are taken in on a rotating basis so that all may get the opportunity to receive the care they need. This is a vital part of the program because many of our students come from impoverished, rural communities. Respite care is a relief to both children and parents.

Autism Center:
Sahyog was recognized as an official center for autism in 2006, and has been providing services to dozens autistic children ever since.
